Navel Ritual

I belong from India and am a Hindu. I know about some communities who are involved in some weird ceremonial ritualistic religious performances. I recently experienced one very awesome ritual in one of my friends' family. It was a Diwali day. In the midnight of Diwali, several worship rituals are done known as tantrik rituals. A very beautiful young lady was selected by the family priest for the ceremony. She was bathed and decorated gorgeously. She was wearing a black saree and a black blouse/choli. The saree was worn far below her very very deep and beautiful flawless navel and the blouse was far above her navel. So her her flat white belly was open completely for the ritual. At about 10pm local time the priest started pooja (worship) of goddess. It was known as Mahalaxmi and Mahakali Puja or worship. All the family members were present there including myself. During the ritual, the priest did several things such as inserting gold and silver objects, gems and jewels, seeds of fruits, flower-buds, butter and ghee in her deep navel with his index finger pressure and twisted the objects at her navel base-bottom at the same time. He said that this ritual is necessary for thwarting evil and bringing peace and prosperity to the whole family. At midnight after 12 "O" clock he told the woman to lie on the ritual place and placed a beetle on her navel. The beetle found her deep navel and went inside i.e. dug itself inside her navel. The priest asked the girl if she feels pain or not but the girl replied that she was not feeling any pain rather she was feeling divine pleasure and joy in her navel bottom.
