How Do I Get My Boyfriend To Understand I Love My Belly And Enjoy It Too?

I love my belly, it's squidgy, round and super soft. It's not massive just a little pot belly (i'm 5'6 129lbs). It wobbles when i walk and spills over my jeans when i sit down.
I've previously moaned to my boyfriend when i wasn't as comfortable with my belly, he saw me forever on a diet (even though he reassured me i didn't need to be). But now he knows i'm happy with my little gut, I eat loads and joke about my belly, but he still tries to reassure me it's not that fat...But the thing is now i don't mind it being fat, in fact i like it being pudgy (and i tell him this)
I love it when he cuddles and squeezes it. It turns me on, I like it when we are intimate and I want him to squeeze it and appreciate it for the tubby belly it is. Even tease me about it.
Recently we were in bed and i placed his hands on my belly and asked him if he liked it and he said "yes as long as you are happy i am happy" ....He often says this, but i want him to like my belly! I'm worried he might just be tolerating it to keep me happy :/
So then to make a point, i climbed on top of him and placed his hands on my bulging belly and wobbled it, which he laughed and then squeezed some flab making a little joke voice saying "hello" like my belly was talking and giggled...i loved it. 
I also have some fond memories of when we went on holiday last July and i gained a bit of holiday weight (all on my belly). I loved waddling up to him and sitting on him and getting him to feel my pudgy rolls, one time he bounced me on his knees and we both laughed at how my belly fat jiggled. And he said "you're quite proud of your little belly aren't you?" to which i nodded. At the end of the holiday after a massive meal my belly was super bloated and he placed his hand on it asking if it was a full belly to which i again nodded. He said not to worry it would shrink down when we got back to normality and not eating as much. I squeezed my belly in front of him saying that "i actually quite like it and i might keep it", to which he replied "well if you like it then keep it".

So there are quite a few signs he likes my belly. But i'm still a little worried he only puts up with it to keep me happy. I'm always the one that has to put his hand on my belly and he often pulls away shortly after. And whenever i ask him about my belly, he forever says "if you're happy, i'm happy". Plus as he is super fit, and works out a lot i'm concerned he doesn't find it sexy....I know stereo-typically skinny flat, bellies are supposed to be sexy, not chubby ones like mine. 
Also i know i have probably confused him trying to be skinny for so long, he doesn't want to upset me by acknowledging that i have a fat, flabby belly. But how can i make him understand that i like it and want him to play with it without freaking him out....Any advice??
